The BBC’s science editor, Paul Connolly, has been studying the ways in which technology is changing construction.
His latest report looks at the construction simulator, a machine that lets people work on their own projects and simulate a building process.
He said the project was designed to show how the latest technology can help designers build better and more efficient buildings.
“We’re using it for a whole range of things, including building systems, building design, the use of materials, and the use, to build something that’s more sustainable, more resilient to climate change, and less vulnerable to erosion,” he said.
Construction simulator is part of a wider programme called Build a Better Life, in which the BBC has been showing the impact of modern technology and culture on communities, and how the changes in our society could affect how we live.
In this episode, we explore the technology that has made the construction of homes and apartments possible.
This is the programme: how the construction industry is changing How the construction boom has changed how people live How technology is transforming how we build buildings What is a construction simulator?
How does it work?
How people can make their own designs, and can it be useful?
Why is it important?
