MCCULLANNE, Co. Kildare – Construction on the world’s first fully functional, fully autonomous construction robot has started at the construction site in Co.
The company behind the project, Bionics Lab, is a subsidiary of construction giant IBIS World Services.
The new robot, built using a combination of robotic and human engineers, has been equipped with a battery pack that can provide up to 400 watts of electricity.
It can then be remotely controlled remotely by the builder to construct a section of a building, or work on a site without human supervision.
It is expected to be used to build up to 25 new houses per day and to help construction crews to construct roads and infrastructure.
It will also be used in the process of building a large-scale wind turbine.
The construction company, based in Co Kildear, is looking to bring its technology to other countries and has signed a deal to bring it to the United States for use in wind turbines.
