Volvo Construction Equipment and Parts Ltd.
has secured an agreement to store the equipment in its storage facility in Bournemouth and is also building a new office trailer for the company in Edinburgh.
The contract will see Volvo Construction equipment and parts Ltd.
retain the rights to build and operate a new building and facility for the first time in the UK, said the firm in a statement.
The company said the move would help to support its workforce in the City of Bourn, and that the deal will also help to increase Volvo’s presence in the wider UK market.
Volvo Construction said the deal was an investment in the company’s long-term sustainability, and added that it was looking forward to supporting the company and its workers with future investment.
Volkswagen and Toyota have been looking to build a new factory in the city, and are also looking to invest in local businesses.
The Scottish Government announced last month it was seeking £7bn of new investment to ensure Scotland remained a leading global manufacturing hub.
